Does wii fit really work?
so i have this idea, that i want to lose weight, about 20-40 pounds. we've had a treadmill ive been using for 30 min a day walking at a 3 mile pace while i watch tv..i know right?
does working out with the wii fit take over that walking for 30 min on the treadmill? i do about an hour a day of excercise on the wii fit. plus i want to run an extra 30 min on the treadmill.
would you recommend it? or is it a choose one or the other sorta thing?

also i was thinking. waking up at 5 30am before i go to school. jog on the treadmill for 30 min, then come after school do an hour of wii fit. would you recommend?
Sounds like you are already getting a lot of aerobic exercise. That's great! But doing strength training & other exercises is good for your metabolism & fitness.
More importantly you need to do exercises that you enjoy & have variety. Wii Fit might work for you.
If you do get the Wii Fit -- I would recommend getting Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Wii Fit plus is the latest version of Wii Fit & it lets you know how many calories you burned per activity & per workout session).
Getting immediate feedback & having the system track your progress is helpful in meeting goals.
What I like most about Wii Fit / Wii Fit Plus is the balance board. There are a lot of other games that use the balance board & you can sneak in extra exercise while gaming (or you can pick from other fitness games as well). I found that We Ski was a lot of fun & the balance board made it feel much more realistic. However for a more challenging workout the Shaun White Snowboarding Road Trip was killer (my thighs were screaming). But take these things gradually. I don't think that you have to work out for 1 1/2 hours a day to lose weight & get into shape. Just be consistent & gradually increase your intensity & I think that you will see a real difference.

Incorporate Fitness Routine Into Your Daily Work
We all have busy lives with work and family life to balance. In these busy daily routines we forget about health and fitness. They probably come last in the priority list. The reason is that you do not have time to go to the gym or for a jog or a walk.

Take stairs instead of lifts in your apartment building and at your office. Initially it will be tough but then it will become a habit. In the office make sure that you get up every half an hour and stretch for five minutes or at least walk to farthest kitchen area in the office for getting coffee or tea. Good eating habits are also essential to remain fit. Shun the junk food and try to incorporate fruits and vegetables into your diet. A good diet plan and a nutrition chart will help you stay on track.
In the evening when you watch television you should be on the treadmill instead of the sofa. That way you get entertainment and exercise. If you have kids then make sure that you go out and play with them instead of playing computer games. Nowadays the in thing for getting fitness is also a game called Wii which combines games and fitness.
Make sure that you do ten minutes of manual work around the house. That manual work could be fixing up something or even mopping the floor. That will give you a lot exercise plus as a bonus keep your wife happy and the house clean.
Exercise combined with healthy eating habits is what fitness is all about. There is no time to waste and the sooner you start the better it is for your health.
