Difference between 'SD card for wii' and normal SD card?

Is there actually any difference vetween the SD card for cameras etc and the white SD card for wii?

I am trying to put some ds games i have downloaded onto a sandisk sd card that i purchased, it doesnt seem to be working and i was wondering if this was because it is not the white one. Also now when i try to put new things onto it via the computer it says that the memory card is protected, i have made sure that it isnt locked on the side of the sd card so what is the problem?

I understand that you can get R4 adapters etc for the ds and and dsi but i was wonderimg if you are able to do it with just a normal sd card?

Toggle has not fallen off the side of the sd card, it is definately unlocked so why is it showing as protected on the computer?

There is no difference between the two cards... Except that the Wii one is more expensive...
Anyway.
Now about how to unlock...
This maybe useful to anyone whose "lock" toggle has fallen off. The plastic toggle is there to activate a switch in the device (like in digital camera) not on the card. To get the device to see the card as unlocked, just glue a small piece of plastic to fill the slot in the side of the SD card casing. You will loose the SD card lock feature but at least you will be able to write data to the card again

Also, if you don't feel like glueing just stick a piece of tape on the side that will work too
