Could a preschooler use Disney Grooves DDR?

My 4 year old loves the Wii games that she can maneuver. She loves all things Disney, she loves to dance. This would be PERFECT for her, but...will she be able to play it? Her birthday is coming up...should I get it for her?

This really depends on the child. In general, the Disney games are designed to be easier because they are geared towards a younger audience, and all DDR games have an adjustable skill level. Don't quote me on this, as I am not a DDR expert, but many rhythm games have a "practice" mode which allows you to play along to a song without the possibility of failing. I can see this being fun for a 4-year old, as she can just keep playing even if she's not hitting all the steps.

You could take her to an arcade or amusement park near you and let her try one of the arcade DDR machines just to see if she loves it or hates it. It also might be worth looking up a Play N Trade store (www.playntrade.com) in your area and giving them a call. Most of them will allow you to try any game in the store. Since DDR isn't a typical game though, I'd call them first and ask if it'd be okay for you to bring her in and possibly test out a used copy of DDR with a mat. Hope this helps.
