wii classic controller black

I downloaded the first Legend of Zelda game and Zelda II from wehackwii.com, and other places,used wad manager to open them. I have a classic controller, already plugged into the wiimote. The thing is, the game loads and the screen is black, or so dim you can barely see anything and it might as well just be black. When I press the home button and it gives me the options like operations guide, wii menu, close, and such, everything looks normal and in the background I can see the screen clear as day, like I can see where it tells me to press start and input my name. When I press the home button again and go back to the game, everthing goes dark again. I want to know how to fix it.
