Very well-polished game that truly captures the feel and character of the original Scooby Doo series. From the excellent voice acting (Fred, Shaggy and Scooby are the stand-outs,) to the laugh track and ‘Chase’ sequences – everything a Scooby fan could want is here. You get the chance to play as different characters as the gang “splits up” to solve a mystery. You may, for example, play as Shaggy and Scooby while they are looking for clues – then, the story line switches and you play as the other members of the gang who are exploring a different area. Sometimes, meeting up and switching characters. Great action sequences, as well. Only animated punching and kicking of the bad guys – not violent in any way.
In general, the difficulty level is relatively easy – making it very accessible for younger gamers. With co-op mode (and the ability of the 2nd player to drop in and out of the game at any time,) my 6 y/o and I have had a great time playing this one together. There are some spots that the younger set will probably need someone to help them with. I originally figured that I would drop in/drop out only when my 6 y/o needed help, but quickly found the two of us playing together for the entire game and having a great time.
The only negative thing that I can point out is that sometimes the camera can get a little wonky and be difficult to follow (a la Super Mario 64,) but this is only a minor complaint and probably true of most 3D games in some regard. It happens realtively infrequently, anyway, so it is really a non-issue in my book.
If you like Scooby Doo, then you should love this game. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the gameplay and accessibilty for the younger gamer. Often times, TV or movie licenses that are made into video games are nothing more than broken shovelware. Not so, here! Torus Games has created a first class product.
The XBOX 360 or PS3 fanboy/fangirl will probably find this game FAR too easy in terms of gameplay. But for the Scooby fan or the casual or younger gamer, it should be a big hit.

I played the Wii version of this game (which is a fine game too) and expected the DS version to be watered down like the DS version of Ghostbusters (not recommended). I was wrong. This is almost a perfect port of the console game.
The game is divided up into 4 episodes. Like the original show there is a mystery which by the end of the episode you (hopefully) solve. The game play is well done. You feel like you are in a cartoon, the cut scenes are very good and feature voice acting from the characters in the recent Scooby doo dvd film.
My only complaint is Scooby is a little on the easy side. Of course you are probably reading this to decide to whether to buy the game for your children at Christmas and the difficulty is perfect for a child, the easy difficulty makes this a good game for an adult as it works well in a pick up play for a few minutes type of situation as well.
The bottom line is it’s fun and worth your money. Your kids won’t be disappointed if they find this under the tree and you may have some fun with it as well.
I hope developers will take note of how to do a DS port right and put the time and effort into future releases as is evident in this game.

I bought this game for my daughter but I borrowed it to take it on a trip from Honolulu to Los Angeles which is about a five hour flight.
The game play felt really good in terms of character control. The objectives for each level is somewhat easy. I like how they incorporate the touch screen area to unlock certain items. The storyline of each level is written pretty good. Each of the characters has a unique “attack” feature which is required for specific tasks which I thought was a very interesting feature to have. The in game video cut-scenes were pretty good. They help you to identify clues for each mystery in the level that you are on. Another thing is when you die on a level, it automatically re-spawns the character and never ends the game.
The only things that I didn’t like were the music became annoying after awhile. On each level, they play one song that loops and loops and loops so that could get to you. The other thing that I thought was quite odd was trying to find all the “Scooby Doo” tags that are hidden on each level. On a majority of the levels, they were either hard to find or hard to get too. But on others, they were real east to get.
Overall, I would recommend this game to kids who are at least five years old only because it does take some thinking on what to do and how to accomplish the task.

This a great game to play. My 4 year old and I can play together and both have fun. He plays Star Wars and Batman Legos and this is right up his alley, with only Boss fights being a bit tough for him. I am picky about which video game I like to play, Super Mario, Batman Legos, game show games and I am really enjoying this game. It is very much like Legos games except you don’t build things. I can see this game being finished quickly, only 22 levels, but the replay value is great as you have to attempt to find all the Scooby snacks and clues and tags in each level. I would recommend this game for those of you who like Legos and Super Mario Galaxy. This is not a difficult game, by any means, but a fun-for-all-family members game.

Then you’ll surely love this game as it captures the spirit of the popular animated series right down to the chase scenes and Scooby-snacks.
It gives you a unique chance to play as all 5 members of Mystery inc, but as a much younger stages and in 2 person team-ups.Each level is design to fit that member of the gang and it’s gameplay is very easy ways for younger players to understand.
The stages are Split up into two ways…Story mode and Explorer mode, it’s Explorer mode that you have to use if you want to get more goodies after playing the levels the first time in Story mode.
Like all Scooby games there are monsters that you can beat through the ways of combat, as it split into two ways: long Range (Shaggy, Velma and Fred) to Melee (Scooby And Daphne). However, in the game you’ll collect special costumes that the gang can use in that level, and that you can buy later after you complete that level. Each costume has a unique ability that you can use to help you defeat more monster foes.
Young or old, if your a fan of Scooby-doo, then this is the game for you.
