Wii Fit or EA active Wii and why?

I have and played both so I can compare.

WII FIT:

Pros

- great balance minigames using balance board, good for fun at parties (ski jumps, slalom skiing/snowboarding, heading soccer balls, balance bubble, tightrope walking and other approx. 5 games)
- some good aerobic exercises (step aerobics, rhytm boxing, hula hoop)
-muscle and yoga workouts are fine BUT:

Cons:

- there is no workout plan for you, so you must choose your exercises manually one after another which leads you to playing minigames much more often than breaking real sweat (that is if you are like me and most people who bought Wii Fit - not too enthusiastic about working out too much)

EA ACTIVE:

Pros:

- 30 day challenge with the prepared plan of workouts for you, which is great as you have basically no chance to avoid anything you don't like, you just have to do it.
- picture in picture trainer on screen all the time, good for checking you moves
- possibility of making your custom workout sets
- you really break a sweat, this is in fact not a game, this is really virtual trainer
- uses balance board (but not too much and all exercises can do wtihout it, too) and resistance band (I suggest buying a stronger one for better results)

CONS:

- Not much fun, no minigames, this is really just hard work mostly (depending on level you set - there's light, medium and heavy workout), no matter which you choose, you will always end up wet
- Come to think of it, that's not bad

Overall, if you are serious about working out, definitely get EA active, if you want more fun and need a balance board, get Wii Fit.
